Juliet works in our Public and Regulatory Law Group. She has a wide
ranging practice in both regulatory and public law. She has
experience of advising at public inquiries (including the Shipman
Inquiry and the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Inquiry);
handling disciplinary proceedings, including advocacy; and advising
on policy and statutory interpretation and conducting litigation on
behalf of public sector bodies.
She has also led on the development of regulatory reform
projects, undertaking numerous drafting projects, from minor
amendment orders, to the SI introducing the GMC's fitness to
practise procedures, to the SRA's new handbook of rules and
regulations to introduce the regulation of Alternative Business
Structures.
Juliet contributed chapters, on Inquests and Children and
Patients, to the Sweet and Maxwell publication "Personal Injury
Precedents and Pleadings" in 2002.
Juliet contributed in January 2010 to the Department of Health
seminar on drafting legislation for healthcare regulators.
