Jennifer Platt is a specialist employment lawyer and has experience of
contentious and non-contentious employment work for clients across
a number of sectors including the public sector, financial
services, recruitment, property management, retail and
healthcare.
Jennifer has experience of defending employment tribunal claims
on behalf of Respondents in relation to unfair dismissal and
disability, race and sex discrimination claims. She has
undertaken advocacy in the employment tribunal. She also has
experience of defending claims in the High Court in relation to
breach of contract and bonus issues.
She advises in relation to a wide range of “day to day” HR
issues including redundancy, flexible working, maternity and
paternity rights, retirement, disciplinary issues, grievances,
performance management issues and data protection.
Jennifer has experience of drafting a wide range of employment
related documentation including service agreements, contracts
of employment, handbooks and consultancy agreements. She has
significant experience of advising in relation to the
enforceability of restrictive covenants. She frequently advises in
relation to TUPE and has undertaken corporate support work
including due diligence exercises both on business transfers and
share purchases.
She has experience of advising in relation to the termination of
employment and drafting Compromise Agreements.
She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA)
and has contributed to ELA consultations and an ELA working
party. She has undertaken training for clients on a wide
range of topics.
