Nick Pimlott is a partner in our Competition and EU Regulatory Law Group. He
specialises in competition law and
communications regulation. His wide-ranging practice covers all the
competition law disciplines: EU and UK merger control, abuse of
dominance, joint ventures/co-operation agreements, distribution and
licensing agreements, cartels, state aid
and public procurement. He has particular
expertise in advising on the relationship between competition law
and intellectual property rights.
Nick’s practice includes advisory work, transactional work,
regulatory notifications and litigation. He has particular
experience of handling major competition litigation before the UK
Competition Appeal Tribunal, Competition Commission and the High
Court.
Nick also has long-standing and extensive experience of
communications regulation. In this field he is ranked as a leading
individual in Chambers legal directory. He has been closely
involved in many of the key developments in the communications
sector over the past 10 years, including local loop unbundling, the
auction of 3G spectrum, the introduction of the current regulatory
regime in 2003, and mobile call termination charges.
Nick is a member of the Law Society’s European Group and the
Competition Law Association.
Nick also advises clients in the media, technology &
communications, public sector and
retail sectors.
Nick writes regularly for legal and industry journals and has
recently contributed to Total Content & Media,
Entertainment Law Review and Mobile Europe. He
speaks at conferences on competition law and regulatory
matters.
