Sian Rudgard a Director in the Privacy and Information Law
Group having worked
previously at the Information Commissioner’s
Office (ICO). She is a data protection and freedom of information
expert and advises clients on a range of data protection and
freedom of information issues.
Sian has considerable experience of
dealing with international data protection issues and has an
unrivalled level of knowledge of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) as a
basis for legitimising international data transfers . Sian has worked with a number of clients who
have obtained authorisations for their BCR applications from the
ICO and also from other data protection authorities.
Sian advises public sector clients on the
application of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) with particular reference to the
application of the exemptions in dealing with FOIA requests and the
impact of FOIA on the private sector.
Sian has experience in the energy,
financial
institutions, life sciences,
media &
entertainment, public
sector, retail and technology &
telecommunications sectors.
Sian speaks regularly on a wide range of data protection issues
in particular on binding corporate rules and also runs regular training sessions
for a variety of public and private sector organisations on
data protection and FOIA.
