Sibylle Schumacher is a partner in the Dispute
Resolution Group of Field Fisher Waterhouse in Munich with more
than ten years of experience in resolving disputes for her
clients.
Sibylle represents clients in all major German
courts in corporate, commercial and construction law related
matters.
She further acts as Counsel in complex
national and international arbitration proceedings, whether
institutional or ad hoc. Sibylle particularly focuses on disputes
amongst shareholders, post M&A disputes as well as insolvency
related proceedings.
In addition to her trial expertise, Sibylle
advises clients in issues arising from white collar crimes such as
fraudulent conduct, falsification of balance sheets et al. She
takes a particular focus on the interplay between criminal and
civil proceedings, interim measures securing the legal protection
of the client’s assets as well as in the implementation of
compliance schemes in order to avoid future detriment for the
clients.
Sibylle has experience across a wide range of
industry sectors, but her particular focus is on financial
institutions and technology & communication.
Recent experience include:
- Acting as Counsel in litigation and
arbitration proceedings on breaches of disclosure obligations in
private equity transactions;
- Acting as Counsel in arbitration proceedings
on significant purchase price adjustments resulting from M&A
transactions;
- Acting as Counsel on behalf of a private
equity fund as shareholder of a financial institution, securing its
rights against the company and its co-shareholders by way of an
interim injunction;
- Acting as Counsel for Companies in various
insolvency related disputes;
- Representing a private equity fund in
relation to significant fraud related claims in the two digit
million amount, taking civil and criminal-law actions.
Sibylle is a member of the German Institution
for Arbitration (Deutsche Institution für
Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V.).
She speaks fluent German and English.
