Swen Schöne is a Senior Associate in the
Hamburg office of Field Fisher Waterhouse and a member of the
Employment and Pensions Group. He has particular expertise in
advising clients on the full range of employment law matters
relating to unfair dismissal, unlawful discrimination, breach of
contract, the enforcement of restrictive covenants and data
protection.
Swen also has a particular interest and focus
on distribution law matters (including transport, logistics and
supply chain), drafting and negotiating commercial agreements as
well as standard terms and conditions. He is a member of the
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Transportrecht e.V., an association
promoting the development of German and international transport
law.
In terms of country focus Swen has particular
experience in dealing with cross border matters, particularly India
and Japan.
Before joining the firm Swen worked in
employment and distribution law for the Duesseldorf office of a
German law firm where he advised clients in a wide range of
industries. He was also at one time head of legal in a German
subsidiary of a listed Japanese company.
After completing his law studies at the
University of Muenster including two years studies on US-American
law, Swen was awarded the title of Master of Laws in Public
International Law at the University of Queensland in Brisbane,
Australia.
Swen Schöne co-authored the article “Financial
sanctions for doping offenders: Validity of the UCI Riders'
commitment to a new Cycling” (SpuRt 2007, p. 227-230).
Swen is fluent in German and English.
