Robin Tutty has specialised in business
recovery and non-contentious insolvency matters for more than
20 years. He has considerable experience in advising directors of
financially troubled companies, helping them formulate and agree
restructuring plans. He also frequently advises stakeholders and
insolvency practitioners on a wide variety of restructuring
matters.
Robin’s practice involves assisting in the formulation of
complex re-structuring plans and the preparation and negotiation of
standstill agreements, re-structuring agreements and the
re-statement of inter-creditor agreements to reflect re-alignment
of different creditor classes including senior debt, secondary and
mezzanine debt and bond holders.
A significant part of his practice involves advising clients
whose businesses are being affected by the insolvency of their
customers and suppliers in order to mitigate the effects of
insolvency and structuring arrangements to minimise the insolvency
risk.
In addition to advising a wide variety of commercial
enterprises, Robin has provided advice on insolvency related issues
to government and quasi-governmental bodies and in relation to
regulated enterprises in the financial services, banking, travel
and transport sectors.
Following the onset of the credit crisis, Robin has spoken at
seminars on a wide range of insolvency matters including the
cross-border implications of the insolvency of financial
institutions and the recognition of overseas office holders in the
UK and European jurisdictions. He regularly contributes to legal
and trade publications. Robin is a member of R3 and INSOL (the
International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and
Bankruptcy Professionals). Robin
is listed as a leading individual in Chambers 2010.
