Notable deals
- Advising BP on the property, planning and environmental
aspects of its disposal of its interests in Wytch Farm Oilfield
(the largest on-shore oilfield in Western Europe) and its
associated facilities.
- Advising City of London Corporation, a municipal landlord
client, in relation to 51 lease renewals at the high-profile
Smithfield Market Including all of the market stalls and many of
the offices in the market. We are also advising on issues such as
service charges.
- Advising the Department of Business Innovation and Skills
on a rent review of the tenant client’s headquarters premises on
Victoria Street, Westminster. This is one of the most significant
rent reviews progressing at the moment in central London.
- Advising Bristol Community Health CIC, Peninsular Community
Health CIC (Cornwall) and other health social enterprise spin outs
on liabilities around the acquisition of property portfolios, along
with needs and issues around property requirements connected to the
transfer of responsibility for the provision of various health care
services.
- Acting for Southwark Council on the redevelopment of the
Potters Field site immediately adjacent to Tower Bridge (which is
the last significant undeveloped riverside site in heart of
London)
- We advised Manhattan Loft Corporation on all aspects of the
the mixed-use development of the Grade I listed, former Midland
Hotel at London St Pancras station, now comprising 67
luxury apartments and a 244 bed five-star hotel. This development
forms the centrepiece of the new Eurostar Terminal at St
Pancras.
- Advising Bank of Ireland
on the multi-phase loan facilities provided for the
development of the award winning St Georges Retreat Retirement
Village. St George’s Park has now become a thriving community of
over 200 residents. The development incorporates a complete
"village" infrastructure including domiciliary support, gymnasium,
restaurant, shop, cafe/bar, hairdressers, games room, library, 24
hour concierge and bowling green. The project has also involved the
relocation of the care facilities provided by the Sisters of St
Augustine and the construction of 3 new bespoke care homes in the
local vicinity.
